Project Overview
Link at Douglas Station was conceived not just as a Public Private Partnership (PPP) between the developers and Miami-Dade County, but also as a Transit Oriented Development (TOD). The mixed-use development, connecting Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, and unincorporated Miami-Dade, was strategically located in close proximity to the Douglas Station Metrorail, Miami-Dade bus lines, and the Coral Gables Trolley, providing easy access to various transportation options. It was designed to promote the use of public transportation and reduce reliance on personal vehicles.
Cascade at Douglas Station is a 404,000 SF residential tower with 421 units and an average size of 936 SF. The tower includes 22,000 SF of ground floor retail space, leased to Milam’s, and 25,000 SF of open public plaza space. The development also includes over 800 parking spaces, serving residents, shoppers, and visitors to the area. The parking facilities were designed to accommodate the needs of those who still relied on personal vehicles, while still encouraging the use of public transportation, walking, and biking. The development aimed to provide a more sustainable and environmentally friendly living option for residents while also fostering a sense of community in the area.
